Detailed itinerary:

Day 1: Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay (L, D)
In the morning, Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel around 7:30 – 8:00 and transfer to Ha long Bay (170km). Stop over at ceramic and hand embroidery workshops in Hai Duong.
Arrive in magnificent Ha long Bay, take a boat through thousands of limestone islands dotted with caves and grottoes, for swimming, relaxing, kayaking and experience the spectacular landscapes. Have an opportunity to watch the sunset over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner. Overnight on boat.

Day 2: Ha Long Bay – Lang Son (B, L, D)
Leave Halong Bay behind and drive to Lang Son province. On the way, admire the beautiful countryside and watch daily life. Arrival in Lang Son, visit Tay and Nung ethnic minority people and experience their daily life. Overnight at hotel in Lang Son Hotel.

Day 3: Lang Son – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc – Quang Uyen (B, L, D)

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most beautiful landscape in Northern Vietnam. Lunch in Ban Gioc and then drive to Ba Be through the vast limestone mountain range. Overnight in Quang Uyen home-stay.

Day 4: Quang Uyen – Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)

Through Ma Phuc Pass by snake route we arrive Ba Be lake in the midday, freely walking around the lake and find for your-self quite felling in tropical forest, you can take the most beautiful photos in these place. Overnight in homestay.

Day 5: Ba Be Lake – Ha Noi (B, L)
After breakfast, take a boat trip in the lush forest clinging to the surrounding mountains. Visit Ba Be Lake, Puong Grotto, Dau Dang waterfall and Cam Ha village. Then return to Hanoi. off at your hotel upon arrival.

Detailed itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon your arrival in Noi Bai International airport, get picked up and transferred to your hotel in Hanoi. Spend the rest of the day for free to discover the capital city of Vietnam. Have halah food for lunch. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City tour full day (B,L,D)
Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and during the entire months of September & October) and his former residence (closed on Monday and Friday), One-Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam and built more than 1,000 years ago. Afterwards, continue to Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the Ngoc Son Temple. Accommodation at hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi – Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
You will be picked up early in the morning for the journey to Ba Be national forest, a drive of approximately 150 miles (230 kilometers). Along the way you will pause to visit a Tay minority community, the second largest ethnic group in Vietnam after the Viets, mostly living off the cultivation of rice. Continue to Ba Be National Park for a boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto, the rapids of the Dau Dang waterfall and tiny Widow Island. You will also visit the stilt houses of the Tay community in Bo Lu Village. Overnight in Ba Be National Park Guest house.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall (B, L, D)
After breakfast, depart for Cao Bang close to Vietnam’s northern border with China. You will be introduced to the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a small village famous for the production of farming tools.Like the Tays, the Nungs largely live by farming the terraced rice paddies that you will see all around as you transfer to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the majestic falls that demarcate the border between Vietnam and China. Spend some time at leisure relaxing and taking souvenir photos as you soak up the sublime atmosphere of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall. Visit Nguom Ngao “Tiger Cave”. We come back Cao Bang town for overnight.

Day 4: Cao Bang – Ha Noi (B, L)
After a night at a hotel in Cao Bang, depart for your transfer south to Hanoi. It is a journey of approximately 185 miles (310 kilometers) through vertiginous rice paddies and remote villages. You will get the chance to stop at an ethnic village known for its tobacco production. This is the road less traveled in Vietnam, offering the chance to enjoy some peace and tranquility. There will be a stop for lunch before your hotel -off back in the bustling Hanoi city.

Day 1: Hanoi – Arrival
Meet on arrival at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to hotel for check in.
Time at your own leisures. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour (B, L)
Full day city tour by car and cyclo. Today, itinerary includes Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and museum before visiting Temple of literature. The tour is flexible and you can choose any other sites that you may wish to visit by discussing the options with your guide. Attractions include: Old quarter, Fine Art museum, Army museum and temples…Late afternoon enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Giang (D)
Tour guide & Driver pick you up at the hotel around noon. Transfer to Ha Giang via Tuyen Quang province. Enjoy natural landscape and green fields, palm hill and villages. Arrive Ha Giang town in the late afternoon and spend overnight there.

Day 4: Ha Giang – Yen Minh – Dong Van – Meo Vac (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you’ll drive to the small communities of Yen Minh via Quan Ba pass. Today is a real challenge however the breath-taking scenery makes the hardship all worthwhile. Take an easy walk to visit villages of minority people en route before lunch in Yen Minh. In the afternoon, heading to Dong Van via Ma Pi Leng pass. This is one of the best photo stop to enjoy the wonderful sightseeing of this vast limestone mountain range and perpendicular walls of rock, which brings one a feeling of adventure whilst being lost in the rocky highlands . Visit Dong Van Old Streets located by the market. Then visit Vuong’s Palace. The building used to belong to a King of H’mong people during the French domination. The palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to it mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. Overnight at hotel in Meo Vac.

Day 5: Meo Vac – Bao Lac – Phan Thanh – Ha Nhau – Ba Be (B,L,D)

Breakfast in Meo Vac and then transfer to Ba Be Lake. Today you’ll pass a non-touristy road where has spectacular scenery and some hill tribe villages on the way. Stop on the way to take photos whenever you like. Overnight at hotel in Ba Be.

Day 6: Boat Trip on Ba Be Lake  – Cao Bang (B,L,D)
In the early morning, enjoy a 3-hour boat trip downstream the Nang River into Ba Be Lake. Experience the peace and tranquility of the unspoiled tropical jungle, emerald waters, limestone mountains and the tribal lifestyle.
After that, depart to Cao Bang (120 km – driving time approximately 4 hours).
Spend overnight at a simple guest house in Cao Bang.

Day 7: Ban Gioc Waterfall – Cao Bang (B,L,D)

Drive to Ban Gioc Waterfall and enjoy the very nice scenery with water reeling handmade by the Nung people and which brings water from the stream to the rice fields.  Short trek to visit the Nguom Ngao Cave, a big and yet unexplored cave with extraordinary natural stalactites (please wear appropriate shoes and shorts, since you most likely will get wet). Continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, which shares the river border with China. Take a boat trip to the waterfall, where you will meet visitors from China, who also come here to enjoy the atmosphere of the famous waterfall on the same river. Return to Cao Bang. Accommodation at a simple guest house.

Day 8: Cao Bang – Lang Son (B,L,D)
This morning, drive covers 150 km to Lang Son on the Chinese border. This town has become a booming trading town since the normalization of relations between China and Vietnam in the early 1990′s. After lunch we go to visit Nhi Thanh Cave, Tam Thanh Pagoda and the Dong Kinh market, the biggest market in the area fully stocked with Chinese goods. Overnight at the hotel in Lang Son.

Day 9: Lang Son – Halong Bay (B,L,D)

Drive to Halong bay through the lush area. Arrival Halong bay pier and check-in registration, board our boat for a stunning cruise amongst towering limestone backdrop while enjoying lunch on board. The cruise will take you by exotic islets with shapes of Dog, Incense Burn, Sail, Fighting Cocks, which are naturally formed by process of erosion between the see water and lime ston mountains. Arrive at Surprising Cave and explore the by bay kayak, paddle to Luon cave, this cave is a natural tunnel thrusts through a mountain’s foot and leads to an exotic lagoon surrounded by mountains covered by dense jungle. Seafood dinner and optional night paddle. Overnight on Halong Junk.

Day 10: Halong bay – Hanoi (B,L)

Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay we have time for an early morning dip with joys and emotions for watching sunrise on sea. This morning we continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas. Brunch will be served onboard. The junk will be near us at all times serving as a back up vessel for those that require it. At around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for a 3-hour journey to Hanoi. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.

Day 11: Hanoi free time (B)
This day is for free for you to relax after the long journey. Just laze on your cozy bed or spend you time wandering around the bustling streets of Hanoi trying local food or getting some nice souvenirs for your friends.
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12: Hanoi – Flight Departure (B)
Time is free at your leisure until transfer to the airport for your flight departure. End of services and say good bye to Vietnam.
